Cesar Ruiz “Get In My Gig Bag” Tour
The genius CESAR RUIZ will be touring the east coast USA and Canada in late May 2018. Always soulful, catchy and exciting, whether he’s playing it straightforward or approaching his set from an experimental angle. Cesar is truly one of my favorite musicians and people so I hope you can catch one of his shows! Gezan USA West Coast TourHi friends! I hope some of you were able to catch Gezan on their west coast tour a few weeks back. Gezan is the 3rd Japanese band I’ve helped tour the USA (Killerpass and Four Tomorrow before them) and their 3-week itinerary was the most ambitious of any of the bands yet. I spent so much time trying to help iron everything out for the tour that I forgot to post anything about it here! Thanks to all of my friends up and down the west coast who helped set up shows and take care of Gezan. You know who you are! Another big thanks to any PNP friends and phamily who went to the shows and rocked out with one of the weirder bands in punk. The above video is of Gezan playing at my favorite spot for shows in SJ, Trash House. My good friends in Windbreaker, including former members of Bradbury (buy their 7″ from me, please!), played their first show opening for Gezan, so check them out below! Music and PNP-related stuff has been on the backburner for me a little bit while readjusting to life in LA, but I’m grateful everyday to be part of the DIY punk community, and being able to introduce my American and Japanese damies to each other is always a treat. Coming June 1, 2017 we have For Music Lovers, the new full length from Cesar Ruiz. It’s a pensive, experimental rock & roll record with hints of R&B and 80?s guitar pop, reminiscent of fellow Arizona-bred musicians like iji and Stephen Steinbrink, but uniquely offbeat and exciting. Recorded at The Unknown in Anacortes, WA over the course of three days, For Music Lovers explores themes of spirituality in the mundane, race and class in society, and observation of one COVETOR – Thank You!

After hitting it off during a tour together last October, 100% and Joyce Manor decided to record a couple covers of The 6ths (Stephin Merritt’s side project/tribute band of sorts), throw the songs online, and maybe collect some donations for charity. I asked if they’d let me do a small run of 7″s and they said YES, so it’s with immense pleasure that I finally get to share these songs with you today. For the 7″s we did a short run of lathe-cut records with Precarian Cuts in Tucson, all hand-made in real-time using old school methods and machines. All proceeds from the 7″s and bandcamp sales will be donated to Planned Parenthood, so even if you don’t manage to snag one of the records I hope that you’ll still consider donating. In addition to donating, we’d also like to encourage you to take action in support of women’s rights, reproductive justice, and access to health care by visiting www.resistancemanual.org, a good resource for information on important issues and how to take positive action. MARATHON STATES Pre-OrderJason Thinh made a small but distinct mark on the Bay Area punk scene in the early 2000?s as the driving force behind the introspective yet vibrant pop-punk band Short Round, and as a member of the socially-conscious ska band The Chinkees. He relocated to Athens, GA searching for a new perspective on life and struggled with issues of identity and separation, losing the impulse for songwriting before eventually embracing it again as a mechanism to make sense of said issues.
