What we’re doing for the album is a pre-order meets fundraiser of sorts. Our good friends at LAUREN RECORDS and REALLY RECORDS will be releasing the record and are currently taking orders for the LP (on either translucent red or white vinyl), along with bundles that include extra goodies like an exclusive zine, tape, and t-shirt. Here’s what that insane t-shirt will look like…
The fundraiser part comes in like this: Once we sell $1000 worth of stuff, we’ll release another song. At $2000, yet another song. Upon hitting $3000, we’ll release the whole dang record for free over at Quote Unquote Records. I hope that sounds coooooool.

Pre-orders for the TOUMING MAGAZINE 7″ are up now in the MAILORDER section. If you aren’t familiar with Touming Magazine, they’re a Taiwanese post-punk band whose music echoes the best of 90?s indie bands like Number Girl, Superchunk and Sonic Youth. Their dense, lush guitar interplay underpins melancholy vocals that touch on teenage angst, sentimental thoughts, as well as sexual hallucinations in a sharp yet poetic tone.
Pre-orders will ship out by September 5th. Vinyl is limited to 300 copies on purple vinyl.

I’m very excited to announce that our next release will be the first full-length album from Phoenix’s best band, DINERS. I saw them play in a cafe in Santa Clara on tour with their sister-band, Dogbreth, and I’ve been obsessed with their 1950′s meets Pavement brand of melancholy pop ever since. You can hear a few preview tracks from their album below. This will likely be available in June, followed by a short tour. This is already my favorite record of the year, and I hope that you will all enjoy it as well.

In other news…
Shinobu and Hard Girls are recording new albums. Shinobu is recording in a cramped practice space, while Hard Girls are recording with the superb Jack Shirley at the Atomic Garden (he’s the dude who recorded most of your favorite records).
